Comments: Do not change the name of this team, it is not defamatory or insensitive, it is an homage to the brave Native Americans who prospered here long before the Europeans arrived. To do so would only further disenfranchise them and erase the memory of the strong, proud Native Americans from our society.

Comments: I greatly respect the words that have been written in this petition. I totally agree with what is said and I hope that all this foolishness about changing an honored and highly traditioned name will finally cease. Those small minded individuals who are always looking for a fight to wage should find a meaningful fight that can help change this country for the better instead of trying to speak for a culture that you probably do not even belong to. Let's find something better to fight for than trying to fight to change the name of a sports franchise that reflects honor and tradition much like the native american people they seek to honor through their name.

Comments: The name is not and has never been, representive of anything derogatory about the American Indians ,on the contrary,it dignifies the race by honoring it through the representation of a noble and brave warrior and for the great legacy and heritage with which they have enriched our nation and country. Seeing the emblem and hearing the name redskins fills me with pride to represent such a great people. (my team)Unfortunately in todays world there are so many people, because of the hypocritical p.c. stormtroopers, who are looking for things to be "offended" at ,because they have been taught that all you need to do is claim "victimization" and complain loudly and persistently and you will get your way and be noticed and applauded by other mindless supporters, regardless of the true intent and meaning of what its all about. In all of this it is the thing that matters the most that is lost and the real "victim"....the truth!
