Next year the North Carolina State Fair will no longer contain the Pork Chop Shop. Rumor has it, that the Pork Chop Shop is being replaced by a new food stand, a food stand that will provide a healthy option for food during the fair. The whole point of a state fair is to represent that state’s culture and way of life, and North Carolina is surely not known for its healthy food choices. North Carolina is in the south. This means that pork, home cookin’, and a whole lot of fried food is our way of life. The Pork Chop Shop allows for farmers from all around the state to come together and promote what they do best. It may sound funny, but It’s truly amazing how well people can come together over something like pork. Farmers all across the state work hard every year to provide for their communities.
