Save the Oak Bridge pool and allow the Planet Swim Organization to continue to develop its programs, swimmers and teams for the long-term.

In the last few weeks, the new owners of the golf course and club at Oak Bridge have put our swim program into jeopardy. The pool is part of the Oak Bridge golf course (Ponte Vedra Golf and Country Club) property and the new owners plan to “monetize part of the property” (let’s be clear, monetize means sell for development) to “re-brand Oak Bridge as a beautiful reconfigured course”.

Unfortunately, the new owners are not interested in keeping the swimming pool where our swim team trains. The new owners have misrepresented the costs to upgrade the pool and they are not interested in working with Planet Swim even though Planet Swim has been a tenant in good standing since 2009, has presented to the new owners plans for refurbishing the pool for future development and wants to make an investment in this community. The new owners have terminated Planet Swim's lease as of April 30, less than 2 weeks from now. With no real solutions for a training facility, the program is at risk.

Planet Swim has 750 family memberships, has hosted more than 20,000 swimming lessons for swimmers of all ages and is home to a top-notch, year-round swim club.

The Sawgrass Players Club Master Board has agreed that they would not vote in favor of any changes to the golf course unless the majority of the community supports those changes.

As a part of this community and the Planet Swim Family this is our opportunity to make sure our voices are heard!

Please sign our online petition to: Save the Oak Bridge pool and allow the Planet Swim Organization to continue to develop its programs, swimmers and teams for the long-term.

Note: Please sign before April 15th to show your support for Planet Swim. The Annual Board Meeting will be hosted on April 28th and we need to collect as many signatures as possible before that date. Current plans call for the pool to be demolished after May 1, 2016.
