Save the Nuclear Dawn Mural in Brixton

Brixton’s Nuclear Dawn mural is under threat as there are plans to develop the space next to the mural. The mural is locally listed and recognised as being a piece of Brixton heritage.

However it is up to the local community to speak up and ask for it to remain. We would like as many people to sign as possible but please add a comment if you are a local person, or have memories of the mural, as this will provide us with important and useful evidence of the mural’s value to the local community.
We, the undersigned are opposed to any plans to remove the Nuclear Dawn Mural. We demand it is protected and repaired for future generations to enjoy.

NB The donation form which appears after you sign is not for the restoration fund.

  • stormy I used to see this mural almost daily when I lived in the Brixton area in the late 80's and loved it then as much as I do now... a far cry from the mountains and lakes I live near now in Cumbria but none the less just as magical.. please save it!!

  • Z. Sullivan This is a wonderful mural - a real piece of imaginative & representational art, depicting our city. It really MUST be saved, to enhance the lives of all who see it.

  • Terry Collins As a former resident of Brixton, I have always regarded Nuclear Dawn as a seminal artwork.

It brightened up a dreary space, had a message and, possibly above all, is an example of community action improving local surroundings.

    Everyone gained.
