The‘Last Boulevard of Mangalore’on the Kankanady - Nandigudda main road is a scenic treasure of Mangalore city. It acts as a natural air conditioning mechanism aiding the people living in the locality. Moreover it helps in maintaining the local ecological balance in the area.

Along this roadlies a medical college, a school of social work, a seminary, a human resource development center, an orphanage, two nursery schools, a high school and two primary schools. This is the only road in Mangalore to have the highest density of students at any point of time during office hours. This is the road that produces a considerable number of educated citizens of this city.

Any permanent damage to this fragile local ecology will have adverse impacts on the children / students studying here. Moreover since the area is primarily residential and since the density of people living here is higher than anywhere else in Mangalore, any damage to the trees would result in the occurrences of numerous health hazards affecting the locals.

We have elected you and your government to power to protect our interests. I request you both to realize what is at stake, come forward and prevent the destruction of this natural abode. Kindly broaden the road by acquiring property on either side of the road without harming the trees
