The commission finally approved the relocation plan and the Kemper Gunn House is officially staying in our community. I am completely drained but the relief is overwhelming. Thank you for showing up when it felt like we were fighting a losing battle.
We the undersigned Westport residents support the preservation of the 19th century Victorian Kemper - Gunn House. We urge the Planning and Zoning Commission and/or Zoning Board of Appeals to approve the use of town owned land as well as needed variances and resolutions in order to secure its relocation and future use.
The process is moving slower than I ever expected and the weight of the bureaucracy is wearing on all of us. I am still spending my nights digging through planning files to keep our momentum alive despite the silence from the commission. This house is worth the exhaustion.

Such a beautiful old building. It would be a crime to let it be demolished.

This house is part of what makes our town special. Once it is gone we can never get it back. PLEASE move it.

Grew up walking past this house every day. It has so much character compared to those boring new condos they keep building everywhere.

Move it. Save it. It is not that hard.
