Name: Dawn Cummings on Feb 6, 2013Comments: My kids live for the bookmobile!! They can't wait for it to come around. We don't have i-pads or kindles and the bookmobile is our main source for books. We may only live 5 miles out of town but it doesn't matter how far it is if you don't have transportation to the library. The bookmobile saves us.Flag

Name: Jeanette Putnam on Feb 6, 2013Comments: The Iron County Mobil Library is my family's only access to a family library. We live out in Beryl and rarely go to either Cedar City or Enterprise. We can not realistically use any of their libraries because you have to travel frequently to return and check out books. It costs a lot of money to travel now. Please save our library so that my family and those around me can have access to books.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 6, 2013Comments: I am saddened to see that the Cedar City Council doesn't think the Iron County Bookmobile is necessary to the residents in our area. If the bookmobile is discontinued, many people will be affected by this, both adults and children. It is such a necessary service that our county provides. Please see it in your hearts to keep the bookmobile alive!!Flag

Comments: I love that the Bookmobile is one more place for my students and children to check out books that they are interested in and that are a good fit for them. This allows them more books to read which is what they need to become better readers.Flag -

As a educator I find the hookmobile an invaluable resource for my students. It supplements our school library. Keeping the bookmobile should never be in question.Flag

Name: Mandy El Halta on Feb 7, 2013Comments: The Book Mobile is a priceless resource for all of Iron County and the outlying areas. By not paying for the Book Mobile to continue, you are saying that education and reading is not important, especially for those that live far from town or have limited financial budgets and can't go to Cedar.Flag

My taxes help pay for this service which is not readily available in my community. If you get rid of the bookmobile give me back my taxes so that I can build my own home library.Flag

Name: Chad Everett on Feb 8, 2013Comments: It is very disheartening to think the politicians of of our county are thinking of limiting our children's access to books and thus limiting their access to knowledge. This speaks very loudly to me of where their priorities lie. They lie not in the future of our society and the future leaders of our community and country, but in short visioned special interests of their constituents.Flag

Name: Lindsay Dodds on Feb 8, 2013Comments: I have 5 boys who absolutely love to read. We also visit the Cedar City Library, but can not always get the books we want there. Having the bookmobile gives us more options, and is also easier to visit regularly because it comes right to our neighborhood. We would be very disappointed to lose such a great resource for our children. Also, the bookmobile librarian, Pat Tomkins is very helpful and does a great job. Please don't take this literary resource away from us!!!!!!!!!Flag

Name: Susan Griffiths on Feb 11, 2013Comments: For more than 40 years I have utilized the Book Mobile. When I moved to the area, it was impossible to go to the city library very often. I was so glad that the Book Mobile stopped a 1/2 mile from my home. My children grew up with the book mobile. We spent many winter nights cuddled up on the couch and summer days under the shade of our tree reading books. As I began teaching, the Book Mobile helped with supplementing books for my students. I have even ordered books through the book exchange program to help in completing assignments for advanced studies. The Enoch library is close by and it too has become a resource. It would be a shame for this valuable resource for children and parents to be discontinued.Flag
