The Final Frontier....

Those words entice a sense of wonder and merriment, a sense of discovery and bettering ourselves and the future for our descendants.

Star Trek is a franchise unlike any other when one examines the base core of the IP's philosophy - acceptance - unification - equality for all and the willingness to challenge the big issues head on without reservation.

Over the past decade or more with the separation of the Franchise between CBS and Paramount in all the above aspects the franchise has been betrayed (primarily by CBS). Recent developments within fan circles and CBS' treatment of the fans further indicates that CBS simply do not understand nor appreciate their own franchise nor the fans they make money from.

It is time for a change.

With Disney's acquisition of the Star Wars IP, myself and countless others had extremely deep concerns about how they would handle the fan base and their acquired product. For me I was presently surprised with how they work closest with the fan-base and even support them. They have made several spin-off shows to reach every demographic available and has been an unrivalled success.

Disney just gets it. Disney has proven they can bend to what a franchise is supposed to be. It's time to push CBS aside, it is time to give Paramount their red slip. This petition is to save the future, save Star trek and request Disney to purchase the Star trek franchise.

Lets make the future bright again and something to aspire to.
