It is under consideration by the UGA Facilities Management to build a greenhouse complex on our upper field at UGArden. This complex would destroy our fields that we have spent countless hours amending and cultivating. The greenhouse complex would eliminate part of the orchard, including apple plantings, berries, and muscadines. There are several UGA classes that have plots that are a key element to their class and would be demolished if the greenhouse is built. Also, through our community outreach, a group of homeschoolers and their families work on a plot that would also be destroyed.
