Part-time students will no longer be able to purchase a discount metropass. Unlike their full time counterparts, part-timers are not eligible to use the discount post-secondary student pass offered by the TTC. Instead, part-timers must purchase a VIP discount pass AVAILABLE ONLY ON CAMPUS. The pass was once sold to students at many locations, which have shut down, one by one. Now the last VIP pass sale centre, APUS (the part-time student union at the University of Toronto), is stopping their sales. However, the VIP pass is still available to Faculty and Staff-BUT NOT STUDENTS. We fought hard to achieve the right of discounted transit. Let's SAVE THE DISCOUNT PASS! We, the undersigned, are lobbying APUS to continue the sale of the VIP pass to students, and/or UTSU to reintroduce a sale of the pass and/or the U of T Parking Services to expand their sale to include students as well as faculty and staff.
