It has come to my attention that my mother, Nance, will be getting rid of "that god forsaken denim thing," more fondly known as "The Denim Couch." Upon the arrival of the new family room couch, the old family room couch will be moved into the basement where The Denim Couch now resides, and The Denim Couch will be moved onto the street corner.
While the saying "out with the old in with the new," generally carries with it a joyful connotation, the ousting of The Denim Couch will oust the fond memories had on and in the presence of The Denim Couch. Moreover, where will our guests sleep? How will two people ever be able to fit so comfortably laying head-to-toe on a couch ever again? Will people still be able to binge watch TV and Harry Potter after the couch leaves?
I don't think so.
