Comments: I visited Torre Argentina in Septmeber and was amazed by the work they do, this site cannot be lost for the sake of politics. It was part of the reason I loved Rome so much and it would tarnish my view of Rome if those in power close it down

Comments: Please dont let all the hard work that has gone into keeping the cat population at a managable, healthy level go back to how it was before, it takes decades to reach the point they are at now, going backwards is not healthy for the cats or the area in which they live.

Comments: Please let the cats stay where they are, it would be dangerous to move them, they do no damage the monuments and they are much loved by all.

Comments: Torre Argentina cat sanctuary is a wonderful place which supports the homeless cats of Rome and also attracts tourists to the area and the city. I remember that before the cat sanctuary existed there were lots of very sick cats - blind, malnourished - in the city. Now at least some are happy and healthy and cared for. How anyone who has a warm loving home can grudge these cats the care of loving people is beyond me. The sanctuary is not damaging the temples. It is keeping them alive! After the Roman Empire fell, some of the old temples changed into christian churches, centres for the poor etc. The sanctuary is continuing a long tradition. The sanctuary also has support from all over the world and the affection for the city of Rome and its people which this also inspires should not be underestimated.
