Name: Ann Minto on Nov 1, 2012Comments: Torre Argentina cat sanctuary is a wonderful place which supports the homeless cats of Rome and also attracts tourists to the area and the city. I remember that before the cat sanctuary existed there were lots of very sick cats - blind, malnourished - in the city. Now at least some are happy and healthy and cared for. How anyone who has a warm loving home can grudge these cats the care of loving people is beyond me. The sanctuary is not damaging the temples. It is keeping them alive! After the Roman Empire fell, some of the old temples changed into christian churches, centres for the poor etc. The sanctuary is continuing a long tradition. The sanctuary also has support from all over the world and the affection for the city of Rome and its people which this also inspires should not be underestimated.Flag
