Comments: Save the Torre Argentina cat sanctuary. They perform great work and save the lives of feral cats that have no other hope. Any society will be judged by their degree of humanity and charity.

Comments: Please support the Torre Argentina Roman Cat Sanctuary. These cats need to be spayed and neutered. Without the sanctuary, these cats would multiply and Rome would have a huge problem on their hands, and that many cats could be a potential health hazard. By allowing these organization to work, you are taking care of both the tourists who come to visit your amazing sites, and also take care of the cats. Please continue to support them. Thanks.

Comments: In May of 2012, my sister and I visited Italy to learn about the history of our Grandparents and their beautiful homeland. A stop in our pilgrimage included the sanctuary, the time that we spent with the hard working and devoted volunteers re-enforced our devotion to the country and the culture. We came back to America telling everyone about our homeland and the ancestors who so honorably share their world with their feline and canine friends. As a historical preservationist of architecture, I understand the sacredness of such unearthed treasures. Through the share location of the digging site and the sanctuary, Italy once again, does a wonderful job of connecting the modern and living with its past. Please don’t shatter this beautiful image, support this and all other cat sanctuaries.

Comments: If the desire is there, then there are always ways around legal entanglements. And the desire SHOULD be there from the officials-without the incredible work of the shelter volunteers, those cats would endure limitless pain and suffering, and the resulting negative publicity would certainly not benefit the archeological association. How short-sighted to put so much negative effort into destroying such positive work. Hopefully the authorities can be persuaded to channel their efforts into working WITH the shelter-the resulting good publicity and good will would be worth so much more to them in the long term.

Comments: When I moved to Rome several years ago this was one of the first organizations I heard about. Their stewardship of animal rights is something the city should support and give aid to and serves as an example that other cities should aspire to. The streets and sidewalks of the historical center of Rome are dirty enough without homeless cats. Please allow these kind individuals and their supporters to continue to their work.
