Comments: Utter disgrace if thi building is closed down. Bodmin has gone backwards so much sine I was a girl. How could the 'so called councillors' of Bodmin let the place go to rack and ruin so rapidly.

Comments: typical fast buck mentality. Chris Clemens has managed to get From the Jam playing here. If the night is a success this could open up Bodmin as a major live venue for alternative, classic and up and coming acts. be very beneficial for the town's economy but I guess our purblind leaders just want to see a few palms greased (probably inc their own) by allowing the town to rot away while at the same time allowing 100s and 100s more houses to be built with no facilities, shops, work, leisure, culture, schools etc to cater for them. The town's going to turn into a massive sink estate full of social housing, criminals, junkies and foreigners. Might as well build a wall around us and chuck banans over every now and then!

Comments: The Council should learn that they are only Parish Council and no longer a Municipal Council and should therefore act accordingly. The biggest cost to the town is Shire House and this is the premises which should be sold. There have been many houses built in Bodmin all of which bring income to Bodmin Council. So where has all this money gone. Probably wasted on the grandiose schemes of the past. Haviing rebuilt Narissa Hall, not to it's original design, they now don't know what to do with it.

Comments: Although I study away at University in London Bodmin will aways be home, when I come down it would be nice to see something else not closed down or gone! A town with already nothing but pubs, banks and supermarkets surely this space should be used to promote the younger generation getting involved in more activities ( Music. Arts Workshops etc) So they are not left about the town getting pregnant and pissing everyone off. This place has potential if people are prepared to put in the effort rather than take a (20%) pay increase (bodmin town council is that correct?) and just sell it off!

Comments: As an event promoter based in Cornwall, I rely on the availability of charity, trust, and town/county council owned properties to deliver festivals and other public events. Looe Music Festival is a not-for-profit event organised by a community charity, with the aim of promoting music and encouraging citizenship in Looe. In only its second year Looe Music Festival sold five thousand tickets, 87% of these were bought by people outside South East Cornwall. For the majority it was their first visit to the town. An estimated £1.35 million was spent by visitors to Looe Music Festival 2012 who were encouraged to spend their money in local businesses. A significant boost in a normally quiet weekend at the end of September. We hope to encourage as many festivalgoers as possible to return to Looe for a short-break or family holiday and put Looe back on the map as a must-see destination in Cornwall. The economic benefit of having an annual programme of nationally advertised and well-organised events in Looe throughout the year is huge - particularly for a rural community which is now dependent on tourism for survival. Looe now has a thriving social and events calendar but without public/community buildings event organisers would be unable to deliver these events which support our local community. Looe is very similar to many other rural communities in Cornwall - particularly Bodmin. We must fight to retain public buildings and protect our historic buildings in order to maintain our communities. I strongly support the quest to keep Bodmin Public Rooms open. Many good ideas have been offered such as creating a Trust or community charity to purchase and manage the facility. I hope that Bodmin Town Council are able to work proactively with interested parties to find an alternative to closure.
