Name: Anne Spetch on Feb 14, 2013Comments: I am part of the Bodmin Musical Theatre group that use the Public Rooms for their annual performance. Without a venue to perform in, the group will probably have to close - what will be left for Bodmin residents to do?Flag

Name: Pete Manning on Feb 14, 2013Comments: When I first come to live in Bodmin 30 odd years ago, Bodmin had a very good community spirit in the town with the carival, singing groups dancing lessons, dancing groups and the Operatics group all using the hall and now the council want to throw away all that and turn Bodmin into a ghost town, there is nothing in the town for the kids so the turn to the pubs where they can drink theirselfves silly and pick up drugs, giving Bodmin the terrible name it has got and making it worse, leave the public rooms alone aand open the Foster Hall alsoFlag

WITHOUT IT AND ALL THE OTHER SALES AND CLOSURES BODMIN WILL BECOME A TUMBLEWEED TOWN HOUSING ONLY CHARITY SHOPS/ESTATE AGENTS/AND SORROWFUL EMPTY BUILDINGS WHICH WERE ONCE THE SHOPPING AND CULTURAL CENTRE FOR THE WHOLE OF NORTH CORNWALL!! Name: Bob And Barbara Jones on Feb 14, 2013Comments: The Public Rooms is part of Bodmin heritage and has been used by community groups for the past 80years including Jitterbugging by the American forces in the War. There is no comparable hall in the area.It would be a disgrace to the town if it is closed.Flag

Name: Frank Ferguson on Feb 14, 2013Comments: The public rooms has been a vital centre for the community for generations. As a child I remember being taken to events there. As a teenager it was the weekly venue for the disco and kept many of us out of trouble. Taking this away from a small community with few public facilities makes no sense and would be hugely damaging. Keep the public rooms public!Flag

Name: John Saunter on Feb 14, 2013Comments: Paying the highest Council Tax in the county. I think our council should have enough funds to keep the building for the use of the community. It's time the town council put their own house in order and re-assesed their spending. Once sold it is lost for ever,Flag

Name: Anonymous on Feb 16, 2013Comments: Bodmin cannot afford to lose yet another historic venue. Enough is enough, leave something for the community of Bodmin. Perhaps making more use of it would make more money rather than selling it of to a developer for flats that no one in the community can afford.Flag

Name: Jackie Metherell on Feb 17, 2013Comments: This is a disgrace, the council should be ashamed of themselves. They have not spent any money on the Public rooms since the late 1980's. Village halls have got more in them than the County Town of Cornwall. (that is what Bodmin was) The council could give the rooms to the people of the town, as was discussed with the council many years ago. Then the committee of a charity could obtain funding from several areas and have something for the town. The coucil is voted in by us so now with the elections in May, is the time to show how you feel and vote them off, by standing against them!Flag
