Did you know that the art program at Randy Smith Middle School is going to be cut in half next year? This petition is to show the school district how we disagree with these cuts. A few facts about arts in the schools. 1. Art has a tremendous impact on the developmental growth of every child and has proven to help level the "learning field" across socio-economic boundries. 2. Stregthens problem solving and critial thinking skills adding to overall acedemic achievement and school success. 3. Stimulates and developes the imagination and critical thinking and refines cognitive and creative skills. 4. Developes a sense of craftsmanship, quality task preformance, and goal setting skills needed to succeed in the classroom and beyond.
