Name: Trish Perkins on May 1, 2012Comments: Please do not ban the African Serval within the state of Ohio. These small exotic cats are not a danger to society and are far less likely to bite someone then the family dog.. Please use common sense and rationality versus ignorance and fear when making your decisions as a legislator. We plead with you- please, do not ban the African Serval and remove it from the 'Dangerous and WIld Animal Act' your state will be enforcing.Flag

Name: Kathleen McGown on May 1, 2012Comments: The serval is not a vicious wild animal waiting to attack. It all comes back to the owner and how the cat is raised. Same as a dog that attacks/barks/bites. Often how the animal is raised.Flag

Name: Jesse G Matty on May 1, 2012Comments: Hello Although I am not a registered voter for ohio I am registered to vote in FL and do!!! This ban still affects me It takes away the serval population in US as well many other wild cats. I choose to buy one in future (if i still can these bans are happening everywhere) I will hurt to see the breeding population going down and may lose out on valuable genetics of wild cats that I wish to buy. Mainly This affects ohio's business people who live in ohio breed these cats make money and spend some or all of it at businesses some small in OHIO who in turn spend money in ohio also. But if these people can not legally keep the cats they will either get rid of them or move. Either way they will not be spending the money made off of their cats in OHIO they will be spending it other states or places. This will hurt the economy in ohio as it will lose business. THIS IS VERY BAD!!! WE need more jobs now not less and if people don't spend money people lose jobs!!! So Please reconsider you passing of this bill. Sincerly, Jesse G MattyFlag

Name: Julia Busch on May 1, 2012Comments: This is a case of casting a net for whales and destroying guppies. Unfortunately, most legislators don't know much about exotic animals and rely on outside advice. Too often that outside advice comes from personal interest groups. Please do your own research. You'll find the African serval is a guppy, a well-loved little guy who has integrated well with humanity for centuries. These sweet-natured cats live with families. You will essentially be tearing apart loved ones. Consider someone coming into your home and taking away your beloved dog or kitty and carting him or her away to god knows where while your children are sobbng for their dear friend. Do not ban servals. They are not dangerous animals. You will be tearing apart families. Please do your own individual research. Thank you.Flag

Name: Aundrea Marchionna on May 1, 2012Comments: Cats are the only animal that has domesticated itself. Until recently man has not selectively bred cats, so they remain close to what their wild kin. The serval is very close to that wild kin in temperament and diet. It doesn’t make sense to ban this breed of animal. Implementing laws that don’t make sense make otherwise law abiding citizens criminals. It also gives me reason to avoid Ohio and keep my money in Michigan where I live. Thank you for you consideration.Flag

Name: Shirley R. on May 2, 2012Comments: there should be more and better laws protecting animals, rather than banning through ignorance of the facts about certain animals, breeds, etc. If I was to have a cat - this is the type of cat I would want. Banning breeds is not the way - ensuring their safety with legislation for responsible breeders and owners is the right way.Flag

Comments: Please do not ban private ownership of the African Serval Cats. They have been proven to be a animal that can live with responsible pet owning families. There have been no deadly incidents with these cats and do not belong grouped with other animals that are dangerous. These cats are capable to live like other domestic house cats in a home.Flag -
