The purpose of this petitition is not to ask the United Nations for a military intervention (as that is imminent after the failed peace talks) but rather to speed up the process of getting international troops into Syria, removing al-Assad and ultimately setting up a democratic, stable government. Every day that goes by more and more people are dying; women and children are included in this endless massacre. The Syrian Crisis has been going on for over a year now, and it is appalling that it is taking such a long time for the world to make a decision about what to do. Innocent civilians are being tortured, small children are being mutilated and numerous human rights abuses have been commited by both the regime and the rebels. Bashar al-Assad is largely blame to here for this situation, and a quick military intervention could help bring him to justice for his crimes against humanity.
