Comments: Pleae enlighten us which section of the public wants it to be braodcast at 6am? I listen to it as a prelude to attending Church at 10am. Who out of the cross ection of British Society would want to listen to it at 6am?

Comments: Appalling decision sprung on us at the last minute. Thousands of older listeners without computers will be affected. No surprise though as the BBC in recent years is now self serving as opposed to public serving & is totally out of touch with it's customers.

Comments: An utter disgrace to do this to such an institution. I do not believe the BBC comment re. listening figures. I have emailed the programme with my views. One is suspicious when such short notice was given of the change. Shame on you the BBC, absolutely absurd.

Comments: I am 80 years old and have missed very few programmes since Sunday Half Hour began. I am all right because I always record the programme but feel so sorry for those who do not have this facility or the know how of how to record. I think it a good idea to have an hour slot in the mornings and call it what you like but lets keep the 30 minute slot in the evening as it has been for the past 72 years.

Comments: By moving to 6am the BBC is destroying a whole community - how many current listeners are even awake at that time? Do the decision makers realise that this is more than a radio programme that can be downloaded from iplayer? It is a weekly opportunity to worship with other Christians across the world - and it has been particularly valuable to me when I have been unable to get to church. Having listened to Sunday Half Hour for 30 years I am very upset at what more or less amounts to the end of the programme.

Comments: At 83 I have been a keen listener to this programme for many years. I am one of those people who does not use a computer very often. My friend has helped me sign this petition. I trust that the BBC will reconsider their decision to end this lovely programme which so many people love. Many won't be able to sign this petition.

Comments: The proposed move of Sunday Half Hour from its established slot on Sunday evening to 6am on Sunday is nothing less than a disgrace. It will leave many people, especially the elderly, feeling bereft and lonely on a Sunday evening. I remember the comfort it gave my late grandparents - the programme, which I listen to about 50% of the time, always makes me think of them. I am concerned that the BBC has no regard whatsoever for the British people and the things they hold dear. These things include, for many, communal singing and a strong attachment to the Christian faith (even if they are not churchgoers). I urge the BBC to think again.

Comments: If I should wish to continue listening to Sunday Half Hour x 2 then I will lose two hours sleep each Su day morning. This is a slot for a minority of the population. To move from peak Sunday evening to a low audience time speaks for itself as a deliberate and aggressive relegation of religion out of popular sight.

Comments: For many people Sunday Half Hour was the highight of their radio listening. Many people cannot travel to church and many are unable to use iplayer, to change the time to 6am is really pretty shoddy by the BBC. I would therefore urge the BBC to reconsider this change.

Comments: I am one of those for whom the timing of the programme matters little directly. I have access to the internet, and more often than not listen online later in the week whilst working at my computer, rather than at 8.30 on a Sunday evening. However, a huge proportion of its audience have no internet access and will be greatly disadvantaged by the move. I feel for them! Sunday half-hour is a beautiful way to draw the Lord's Day to a close, but the BBC ( a secular organisation and proud of it) shows little care for the spiritual well-being of its listeners. Was there any consultation?

Comments: We have listened to Sunday Half Hour over many years - it is not Sunday evening without it, and it prepares us for the coming week. It is also comforting to know that this is one programme that our grand-parents listened to and we have been able to hold on to that continuity. We do not want to set the alarm to be able to listen at 6 am thank you. How many people have access to i-players anyway? Sunday evening will just not be the comfort zone any more.

Comments: Does the BBC, in its wisdom, not realise that, although numbers listening to Sunday Half Hour might appear to be low, many of them are people who do not have access to a computer, nor perhaps the expertise to us one in order to go to the i-player. For example, many of our housebound folk appreciate our Church's evening service recorded on a tape and taken to their homes by members of our Pastoral Care Team to help them set it up. Could Sunday Half Hour be placed perhaps on You-tube to enable access and for it to be taken to homes by friends . Please think seriously about possibilities of not having to waken up the elderly in particular at 6 a.m. and then they might appreciate gratefully the extra half hour.

Comments: SHH is my favourite radio programme. For decades, I have stopped everything on a Sunday evening so that I might listen to SHH in peace and quiet. I am not awake at 0600 on a Sunday morning and do not have a computer to 'listen again' to something I did not hear in the first place.

Comments: Please don,t move this programme. Many housebound, elderly people rely on it as their only means of connection to Church. They may not have the capacity to listen on iplayer or the ability to be up at 6am. Please don,t deny them this small enjoyment in what otherwise must be a difficult time.
