This is a national issue which will be of direct concern to the people of the Suffolk County Council area when DEFRA "rolls out" its culling policy in 2014.
The object of the petition is to ensure that Suffolk County Council's badger population is as safe as possible from slaughter and that the already available injectable badger vaccine against bTB is used in as many cases as possible.
We ask this because we believe the culling policy is inhumane (DEFRA's measurement of "humaneness" is to time the screams of wounded badgers), inefficient (previous culls showed an increase in bTB because of badger movement) and unscientific (the majority of scientific opinion hold that a cull will have "no meaningful result").
To preserve the integrity of this petition please only sign it if you live, work or study in the Suffolk County Council area.

We, the undersigned, call on Suffolk County Council to prohibit the culling of badgers on council-owned land and invest in vaccination programmes locally. We ask this because we believe culling to be inhumane, inefficient and unscientific.
I won't be standing by & letting this happen on my doorstep & will be our there to help stop this disgusting cull.
I'd cull OP, before letting any badgers get culled :/
The badger cull has been a shambolic failure. Extremely cruel and unnecessary and should be replaced by a programme of vaccination.
Nobody wants the badger cull except for those who can make money from it. It's disgusting. We are all responsible for the planet we live on. It sickens me that there are those who would exterminate such beautiful creatures, part of the world that we have a responsibility to look after, for profit. They have more of a right to be here than we do. Humans are the problem here, not the badgers. I hope that the Suffolk County Council will recognise this and stop the badger cull. It would be the moral and right thing to do.

COMMENTS: The badger cull proved scientifically and financially (not to mention morally) that the cull was an unmitigated disaster. The decent thing for Owen Patterson et al to do now is admit that and go with the vaccination program.
