Sunrise Auto Sales 246-19 N. Conduit Ave Rosedale NY 11422 Tel 718-978-5800 07/02/2013 We are grateful to you for taking time out of your busy schedule to be of assistance to us. We are reaching out to you for your help in resolving the situation with DCAS( Department of Citywide Administrative Services) in reference to the shutdown of our small business. DCAS informed us that they mistakenly leased the property to us for 13 years thinking that it was a commercial property. DCAS informed us that we need to vacate the premises due to a zoning status. My father Imanayul Suyonov and myself Boris Suyonov have been in the current location for over 13 years. We have invested our lives to build a clean reputation in our business with the people of the Rosedale Community. We employ 5 residents of the Rosedale Community that depend on their income from our business. There will be a substantial loss to all parties involved if we are asked to leave the premises. We are overlapped with other businesses on the same strip of Sunrise Highway which are legally zoned for commercial use. The LI Rail Road serves as a divider between our business and the residential lots. We have had a pre-Variance application meeting with personnel from the NYC Land Use Committee and the Queens Community Zoning Board and they informed us that they do not see an issue for an approval of this variance. We have informed Commissioner Edna Wells Handy and Jeff Kondratt that we are willing to financially support a variance application on DCAS behalf as long as we are permitted to stay. We have full support from Councilman Donovan Richard and the Rosedale Civic Association Board in support of our Business being in this location. They have since reached out to DCAS and asked them to reconsider their decision. They still want us to leave the premises after all the support we are receiving. We are honored to be part of the Rosedale Community and hope we will continue to be part of it with your help. If there is anything you can do for us to resolve this situation we would gratefully appreciate it. Thank You in advance.
