Name: Gordon Russell on Jan 13, 2010Comments: this ferry link is of the utmost importance and should not be subject to closure because of financial constraints, what is the alternative for pedestrians to cross the river? in today's thinking of environmental issues, surely to cross the river by way of public tranport through glasgow / govan surely increases carbon footprint.Flag

Name: Eric Young on Jan 13, 2010Comments: I regularly traveled on the Old Renfrew Ferry as a boy, and enjoyed seeing the chains and the engine. Nowadays I use it on foot and bicycle to cross over to Yoker to travel left to the Erskine Bridge, and left to Partick etc. I would very much prefer the ferry to be retained. Eric YoungFlag

Name: Liz MacKenzie on Jan 13, 2010Comments: I have used the Renfrew Ferry for years to visit friends and relations in the Renfrew area for countless years and it saves me a lot of unnessary traveling, it is safe reliable and reasonable. I think it is also unique form of transport and instead of doing away with it, it should be advertised and promoted!!! There a hardly any ferries left on our river, any other country in the world is using thier main waterways for travel and leisure activites. What a great missed opportunity this would be for the Clyde, the one glorious Clyde..... to mothball this ferry.Flag
