Name: James Mackie on Jan 12, 2010Comments: Central and Local Government keep telling the General Public to leave the car behind and use Public Transport . If the Renfrew Ferry ceased operation this would result in more cars having to be being used to replace this transport service.Flag

Name: Alistair Sharp on Jan 12, 2010Comments: This ferry is a long standing vital transport link which reduces need for people to travel distances unnecessarily by public transport (with resulting increased carbon emmissions). Every effort should be made to keep the ferry operational with all options explored. Removal of the ferry is totally unacceptable.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Jan 12, 2010Comments: Closing this ferry would I think cause major problems for people who use the ferry to get them to and from work on a daily basis. I am sure it must also be a bit of a tourist attraction as many people returning to the area will remember (with affection) using the Renfrew Ferry.Flag

Name: Robert Oliphant on Jan 12, 2010Comments: I may not live in the town any more but I still have a fondness for it and the Ferry is one of the things that make it unique (as well as being an important transport link). So I would definitely oppose it's removalFlag

Name: John Lafferty on Jan 12, 2010Comments: Closure of this ferry link would mean the nearest pedestrian crossing for me on my bicycle would be Erskine Bridge or Bell's Bridge both of which are miles away from Partick where I want to go. If there is any will, within the ranks of officials running the transport executive and the local authorities in the area, to seriously promote a healthier lifestyle and a reduction in pollution then this proposal goes firmly against it and should be dropped immediately.Flag

Name: Frances E Findlay on Jan 12, 2010Comments: Not only is the renfrew ferry a lifeline for people who cannot drive to the other side of the water it is also a Renfrew landmark It would be a shame to see it go Please rethink this very carefully.Flag

Name: Nico Butterfield on Jan 12, 2010Comments: This Ferry is a life line as my Father has been ill in the Golden Jubilee Hospital and it was a vital and shorter link for myself, my brother and my mother to get to the hospital prompty to see my father without a trip through Glasgow in the rush hour traffic and at night. We also Have family in the Clydebank area and we use the Ferry for this reason as well. I have a white stick as I have a visual impairment using the Ferry route means I can go and see family myself unaided and feel very comfortable using this route.Flag

Name: Nancy Gemmell on Jan 12, 2010Comments: this is such a convenient way for pedestrians from Renfrewshire to get to Yoker, Clydebank and also Scotstoun, Whiteinch and Knightswood - or vice versa. It takes much longer, even using one of the buses that go through the Clyde tunnel. Please keep it!Flag

Name: Robert Leitch on Jan 12, 2010Comments: My family have used this ferry all my life. For those who use public transport this crossing is a lifeline and is much quicker than taking buses over the bridges and also avoids traffic snarl ups on the Kingston bridge. Maybe if the fatcats in the council would stop awarding themselves perks proper services like this would stay open.Flag
