Name: Thomas Alexander Pearson on Mar 3, 2013Comments: Lt Alex Pearson Jr was my Uncle, my father Guthrie Pearson's brother. The family were Oregon natives for over two generations, living in Portland until after WWII when my Grandfather was in his late 80's. They spent a lot of time in Vancouver and Southern Washington State in general. Had Lt Alexander Pearson Jr lived would he no doubt would have been a well known a name in aviation history as his friend and fellow Lt Jimmy Doolittle. The flyers of his era were like todays Astronauts, everybody knew who they were and followed there exploits. They risked, and often lost their lives, as Alex did, in defending America and in the advancement of American aviation Regardless of my relation to Lt Pearson, I find it a travesty that a fake British outpost fort from 1792 is given priority over the rich AMERICAN history of Pearson Airfield.Flag

Name: June E. Whitney on Mar 4, 2013Comments: This facility is very important to the community and public at large. All of us that love vintage airplanes would be greatly harmed if you made them leave...why ruin something that does such great good for the local area and many that come from all over the world to see these planes? Makes no sense and to have it removed would be tragic.Flag

Name: Daniel Pietras on Mar 4, 2013Comments: The Historic Trust has done a superb job of managing the museum and its other interests and is sensitive to the wishes of the community and works with local groups more than NPS. The museum, its 7 acres and all artifacts that were the responsibility of the Historic Trust before February 1 needs to be returned to the trust along with its staff, so aviation history can be properly protraied according to the wishes and support of the community. NPS has its own interperation of history and if they need to discuss some important facets of history, then they should do it, in good faith, with the Historic Trust. Support HR 716 by contacting your state and federal representatives and don't let this worthy endevor fall by the way side.Flag
