Name: Kathryn Bishop on Feb 11, 2013Comments: This beautiful air museum was emptied on orders from the Park Service so quickly that no one knew it was going to happen. Now the Park Service is going to remove the monument to the Chkalov flight that was paid for by ordinary citizens, not the Park Service. We have to stop them -- they will probably destroy a wonderful commemoration to the historic flight 00 a monument that cost millions of dollars to design, build and erect.Flag

Name: Don Laurine on Feb 12, 2013Comments: NPS Tracy Fortmann has displayed heavy handed approach to dealing with the PAM. I have lived here for 19 years and enjoyed the museum. The parks are for the people and the park service should get a clue... Vancouver community likes the museum. Let the museum run as it always has!Flag

Name: Greg Hughes on Feb 12, 2013Comments: As a local area pilot, volunteer at air museum functions, and resident citizen I am both shocked and disappointed at the situation between the National Park Service and the Pearson Air Museum. The park service should return the museum's agreement to the original one and allow it to remain in force until it's original expiration. The strong-arm tactics being used are not welcome, and the loss of the museum artifacts as a result of the short sighted move on the part os NPS is very unfortunate.Flag

Name: Gordon K. Mandell on Feb 12, 2013Comments: The National Park Service should be compelled to reverse its decision to terminate its agreement with the City of Vancouver, or the Park Service's jurisdiction over the Pearson Air Museum property should be terminated by legislation and the Museum property should be transferred to the City of Vancouver.Flag

Name: Eric Taylor, Port Townsend WA on Feb 12, 2013Comments: Maybe the NPS should deed the museum property & building over to a more appropriate entity such as the Ft Vancouver Trust or the Museum itself. I'm not sure that the NPS should own property & a hangar on an airport -- even if it is at the oldest airport in the United States.Flag

Name: Lee Davis on Feb 12, 2013Comments: The Trust has done an excellent job managing the museum and should continue to do so. Many of the planes were on loan and will not be available to the Parks Dept. So, what are they going to do, display an empty hanger? Don't ask me to give more tax money for a land grab.Flag

Name: Marc Chamberlin on Feb 12, 2013Comments: This smells like it was a power grab by some administer types in the N.P.S. who wanted to steal more (credit, publicity, money, etc.) from such a popular and lucrative museum! IMHO the N.P.S should fire those administrators for having put the N.P.S in such a bad position and turning public opinion against them.Flag

Name: Frank Hill on Feb 12, 2013Comments: The NPS should be embarassed by the actions of one of it's managers. Closure of the air museum is an insult to every resident in Vancouver, Clark County, and the surrounding communities. Plus a great educational opportunity is now closed. What were they thinking??Flag
