As this matter is of an extreme importance to this historic community, it has been made publically known that this corner market which had been operable in this community for at least 47 years is now being threatened into shutting it's doors because of leasing issues with Land, Inc., who is the leasing company the owns the string of unoccupied buildings along the Agnes block from Parkstone Market to the end of Parker Street. This petition has been generated to help save the market from closing as this market provides a safe and convenient commute for your shopping needs and is part of this historic community. It's location provides a safe and convenient commute for children, the elderly, the handicap, and neighborhood patrons. There has never been any criminal history or robbery incidents associated with this market in the 47 years of operation nor has any law enforcement agency had to frequent this market since becoming a part of this community. If this business shuts its doors we will be looking at another vacant eyesore right on the corner of our community. It will become a safety issue as the DOT bus stop is right in front of the building and it will more than likely become a shelter for unwanted critters. This petition is an attempt to save this market from closing and having another unsafe, boarded up building in this neighborhood by this leasing organization.
