It is with grave concern that three new expressways are proposed to cut through natural forests in Selangor. The proposed East Klang Valley Expressway (EKVE) would go from Gombak to Cheras and cut through the Klang Gates wildlife sanctuary and the Ampang and Gombak forest reserve portion of the Selangor State Park. This place is famous for numerous nature trek activities as well as water dam reservoir. The proposed Sungai Besi-Ulu Klang Expressway (SUKE) would go through the Bukit Sungai Putih Wildlife Reserve. Bukit Putih as known as Bukit Saga or Bukit Apek is a popular trek for nature trekkers for decades. The Serdang-Kinrara-Putrajaya Expressway (SKIP) would affect part of the Ayer Hitam forest reserve. The forest has already been shrinking fast due to housing developement nearby. Puchong hill is a popular destination for daily trekking and pristine clear water. This proposed highways will result in the further fragmentation of forests in Selangor. We object to the plans to route new highways through nature reserves and proposes that the authorities stand true to their commitment to protect the forests for future generations. The sanctity of the remaining forests in Selangor should be maintained and further deforestation and fragmentation should be avoided. Do help us to create awareness and object to this ridiculous proposal. Help us to save our forest. This petition will be given to Malaysian Nature Society! Jayram
