As Redbridge Council considers it's annual budget for 2011.  We the residents of Redbridge implore Councillors and our Cabinet to secure better prospects for our next generation.

It is imperative that our children continue to have a well funded and professional education, so that, they are better able to avoid the pitfulls of the current and future recessions.  Redbridge education holds 6th place on the UK's best performing boroughs - much due to good investment and a hardworking, knowledgeable and experienced teacher fraternity.  To continue this drive for success and parity or opportunity for our young we ask the council to consider the following:

  • Review existing number of Schools/Classrooms/Staffing and ensure that all Redbridge children and young people can have access to excellent local educational facilities.  Our existing shortage of school places is a major concern that we believe needs urgent and priority attention.
  • Continue with existing "Special Educational Need" services, to ensure parity of opportunity.
  • Continue to fund the Redbridge Drama Centre and the Redbridge Music Centre - so that those with a performing art are able to excel in their respective areas.
  • To consult with residents of Redbridge over any proposed cuts to services.
