Name: Craig Sheppard on May 16, 2012Comments: In my 21 years as pre-hospital care, I can safely say that 95% of the moose vehicle accidents were human error and not the moose. Example: Speed was the main contributor, texting, cell phones, impaired by alcohol and others. Don't blame the moose for your mistakes.Flag

Name: Celie Parsons on May 24, 2012Comments: Protect our heritage, protect our culture and protect our jobs. Our Moose if managed properly is a renewable resource. Please sign the petition, fight to protect what we have now, it is TOO late when its gone. Look at the fishery if you need more convincing. The people involved are the people who know, this is the voices that need to be heard. When no one listened to the fishermen the industry died, if no one listens to the hunters and outfitters this industry that is now struggling from mismanagement will surely die as well.Flag

Name: Ray Humber on May 24, 2012Comments: The article that was written says it all. We need to preserve our Moose populations in all of Newfoundland. The main reason people are having accidents and collisions with Moose is that they are driving way to fast especially during early mornings and evenings when Moose are moving. People have to learn to slow down and obey the road signs. Decision makers in Government must listen to Wildlife personal to ensure our healthy Moose populations are protected and managed into generations to come.Flag

Name: Ed Lally on May 25, 2012Comments: I hunt moose in NL almost every year. The cost of my travel, license, meals, lodging, guide, tips and the money i spend in stores and restaurants exceeds $8500 per year. If the number of moose drops, the licenses will drop and I will hunt in other places. My fellow hunters will also hunt elsewhere. We will stop coming up in the summer with our families as we will have found other places to go. NL will loose $1,000,000's upon $1,,000,000. The multiplier effect of this new money, brought into NL form outside will put a enormous dent in the economy of all residents of NL.Flag

In the Fall 2010 I would drive from Carmanville to Gander early in the morning ( it would still be dark) to be at the hospital before 8 AM. You cannot imagine the number of cars that would fly pass me. This is a road where moose are seen often. Seems like no one drives the speed limit !!!Flag
