Healthcare in Arizona is at a crossroad. Hospitals across the state are experiencing serious financial losses, that if not addressed, will have long-term negative impacts on the quality of healthcare available to everyone statewide. For many in our community, including parents of young children, teenagers and the elderly, Emergency Rooms provide the necessary access to healthcare when they need it most-weekends, after-hours and in emergencies. Unfortunately, many hospitals struggle in balancing the requirement to provide outstanding emergency room care, and in many cases the financial loss associated with those services, with investing in new technologies, and equipment to meet the growing needs of physicians and patients.

How Can We Get Involved?

Doctors for Responsible Health Care (DRHC) is spearheading a public campaign to encourage the Arizona Legislature to expand the AHCCCS eligibility to 133% of the Federal Poverty Level (FPL). This will increase the federal reimbursement rate and help hospitals in Arizona recover millions in losses and invest in future technologies to improve patient care and outcomes.

Our campaign will build community-wide support by focusing on preserving the first line in medical care-our emergency rooms.
