Name: Christopher Smith on Aug 5, 2009Comments: Please do not close this hospice. We no longer live in Bristol, but my Grandmother lived there before it became a hospice, and my father was cared for, and died there, as well as several friends over the years. It offers an essential service to the people in the area which should not be allowed to cease.Flag

Name: Mrs Debbie Simpson on Aug 8, 2009Comments: Whilst visitng my terminally ill sister-in-law in the hospice we were appalled that a decision was being made to close the hospice. The most annoying thing is it comes down to money & not the consideration of the local people or the staff & their needs. The staff & volunteers do a fantastic job not just for the patients but for the relatives at a time when they need it most.Flag

Name: Veronica Morgan on Aug 10, 2009Comments: The hospice care in Knowle is a vital part of our community. I understand the costs that are involved but am deeply saddened that the decesion to close seems to have been taken without special effort from the many willing fund raisers. I wonder if an approach has been made to Tesco to assist with funding. Very nearby the current Knowle Hospice site a Tesco Express is to be opened, to the dismay of local small businesses & neighbours. Perhaps Tesco could be prevailed upon to help the local community by supporting the hospice work. Please explore all avenues of fund raising before closing this well loved and important service to South Bristol Thank youFlag
