We the undersigned object to the Swangley’s Lane Solar Farm proposal for the following reasons;

· It will industrialise our green belt and significantly alter the character of our cherished local landscape.
· The developer has not demonstrated special circumstances that warrant the use of good grade arable green belt land for renewable energy generation.
· The local community does not support the proposal.
· Government guidance recommends solar generation for brown field sites and southfacing roofs of which there is no shortage, in preference to taking good quality arable land out of food production.

The Swangley’s Lane Solar Farm proposal is the wrong location, has a significant visual impact, and unnecessarily damages the rural openness of the Hertfordshire green belt countryside. The proposal conflicts with the local plans, encourages creeping coalescence and should be rejected.
