By 2014 Chloe Smith and her Tory Government will have voted for cuts of over 33% to Local Authority funding which pays for vital fire services.
The Tories have also announced plans which would
enable the Council to sell our fire service to the
highest bidder so they can cut corners and make a profit at the expense of our safety. This could mean fewer fire stations, fewer staff, and fewer fire engines.
We have already seen fire response times fall by two minutes in the last few years. As any fire fighter will tell you two minutes is the difference between extinguishing a fire and a house being burnt to the ground.
We know that cuts and privitisation are not the answer. Please don't play with fire.
