Comments: Message to Bishops of E&W: Please consult the parishioners in your dioceses BEFORE you decide to close their Churches and take into account their views.

Comments: Please consider an alternative model to clustering. Please consider handing parish churches over to their parishoners and have "flying priests". Clustering is trying to hold on to an old model of church. We need a radically new model.

Comments: Clousure of Churches and destruction of parish communities will further assist the decline in attendance. We should be trying to fill churches not close them

Comments: Bishop Budd of Plymouth ignores his people. He closes rural churches but he should know Catholics are leaving the city for muslims and we are all moving the rural areas. Bishop Budd knows nothing about how country people live. He is not well enough to work. The Vicar General is in chargte of him. The Bishop should step down now.

Comments: Although we are now living in the USA, we are returning to the UK to live and when we do, we hope our parish is still there. We understand the financial and physical burdens older parishes face, but are extremely concerned that not everything has been done to make current structures updated, evangelisation promoted or laity involvement encouraged as it should be. We are trying to attract new people to our faith, not push them away by waving the flag of defeat and closing our parishes. There must be something more we can do to keep the parishes open, rather than close the ones in city centres and build one in the suburbs.

Comments: There are churches in Western Australia with just two families supporting them but the Local Ordinary is prepared to support them because of his commitment to the Mission of the Church.

Comments: Churches in the Diocese of Plymouth are "under review" with a view to closure. Chideok closed. Holsworthy closed, parishioners now having their Mass on Church of England premises. Tavistock and Gunnislake under threat. This is not about money, the Diocese has more unrestricted capital than most. The problem is reduction in number of priests. There is no call for men to put themselves forward for the diaconate, there is no advertisement in the Diocesan newspaper and no poster in churches. We have Eastern European immigrants. I have seen no effort to make these people welcome. Many churches are not in the telephone directory. The Diocesan directory is two years out of date because they have "nobody to maintain it." I offered to do it, my offer was made to two trustees, Margaret Green and Father Koppel, to the Bishop and to the Diocesan Communications Officer. The website Mass times are wrong. If the Poles could find the churches they would come to Mass, and there would be no need for closures. Most of our churches are inaccessible to disabled people. Is it any wonder Mass attendance in Plymouth Diocese is down by ten per cent in five years I heard the Vicar General tell the parishioners of Gunnislake and Tavistock that this diocese does not want Indian or Polish priests because they would not understand our language or culture. Rubbish! I beg the Vatican to take a close look at this diocese.

Comments: It's about time we stood up to the mitred bulldozers - first the Protestant reformers closed down our churches, now we have Catholic reformers doing the same. What an insult to those who died, in times gone by, for their Faith and those who built these churches, some of them with their own money, some of them with their own hands. As for closing Chideock, has that bishop lost his mind Withdrawing permission for Sunday Mass - wants to turn the church into a museum The man is a disgrace. He should step down, as someone else rightly suggested - and take his equally obnoxious VG with him. Bandits.

I think that you could do with a few pics to drive the message home a bit, but other than that, this is excellent blog. An excellent read. I'll certainly be back. acheter wow gold acheter wow gold
