   Comments: The dog park serves a similar function to the kids' playgrounds: a place for families to enjoy their canine family members, and a place for families to form lasting bonds of friendship. I've met some of my best friends at dog parks - both human friends and canine. This is a major source of joy and meaning in life for me, and one of the great benefits of living in Albany.

    Comments: Having this very small plot of land for the use of our community's dog owners is very important. It gives people a chance to establish lasting relationships in our community. I have met many people at Memorial Park over the years and continue to enjoy friendships that I never would have had had it not been for the "dog park". I encourage you to continue to let all of our neighbors enjoy the very small amount of open space we have in our city.

    Comments: The city of Albany provides many acres of land in its central park area for sports and recreation uses for people, but to date has not formally provided such services to its citizenry who would like to enjoy time with their animals, and as a way to keep their dogs in shape, both physically and socially. I would like to see some of my tax dollars used for this.

    Comments: We use this off-leash community dog area several times a week. It is only 2 blocks from our home and we love being able to walk there with our dogs and two children to watch our dogs play and to visit with neighbors. The off leash area is an important community resource and must remain open, as other parks are, for members of the community to enjoy. At heart, it is the type of facility which we pay taxes to support and that makes Albany special (i.e., good parks, library, schools). Please let me know should you have any questions.

    Comments: 30 year resident and Albany business employee...There is more noise from things other than dogs at Albany Memorial Park, and, in fact, my neighbors dogs bark more than the dogs that visit Section B. Why can't we live in peace?

    Comments: I want a sanctioned fence DOG park where I can meet up with neighbor's and play with our dogs. One that has water and waste bags!(or at least a box where people donate bags). I would pay for this with taxes, donation, fundraisers, or a membership fee. We're forced to go to other towns and spend our $ there when dogs are not allowed at Memorial. We're a very diverse, but close-knit community that has much to offer. All we're missing is a real FENCED DOG PARK!

    Comments: I'm shocked that this is still an issue. I was so happy that the city had come up with a solution by installing the fence. As a neighbor of the park, I see the dog field in use at all times of day and night by many families, and feel that it's existence is invaluable to our community.
