This will be the last summer of play centres for our children in Kensington and Chelsea. The council are planning to outsource our much loved and needed service leaving many parents without affordable term time or holiday support. Outsourcing means fees will double to as much as £50 a day! North Kensington has been identified as the 2nd poorest ward in London where homelessness and poverty are major concerns for many residents due to low incomes and the lack of affordable housing. Many local residents rely on this credible service to maintain the welfare and wellbeing of our children whilst we go to work during schools holidays to try and pay our bills. Without this service many will struggle to stay in work, which will have a knock on effect on our housing and health.
