Comments: There is far too much brown field site going to waste to justify cramming even more pokey / cheap houses onto green belt sites. Green spaces should be left untouched for our future generations - not sold off to build ugly houses. Plus, our wildlife needs this space more than we do. We need to stop our ever-increasing population, rather than destroying natural habitat. If the benefits system looked at its ridiculous rules on shared-housing, then so many new houses wouldn't even be required!

Comments: Consigning green fields to housing developments is lazy planning - there are plenty of decaying urban sites available. Our countryside is precious and fundamental to our communal well-being. Let's protect it!

Comments: This seems entirely the wrong way to treat what could be Kirklees' prime archaeological site and attraction, Castle Hill, as well as semi-rural leisure location at a 'safe' distance from concentrated housing. Given the shambles over the Thandi proposals for the 'pub', surely it's time to leave the hill well alone and let it thrive in its agricultural landscape and archaeological context.

Comments: I think that this proposal is quite disturbing and demonstrates the short-sightedness of the planners. I fully understand that we need more housing but fail to see the logic behind building on a green field site when so many brown field sites are just as suitable and a large number of properties lie neglected. We must remember what makes this town beautiful and that when we have lost these green spaces, there's no getting them back.

Comments: It is essential to keep this green corridor to prevent urban sprawl. The area also lacks amenities and already has an inadequate road infrastructure. There is also a huge gas main which runs through the middle of the site which the Council may not be aware of.

Comments: Huddersfield is FULL. We should be trying to reduce the population of our town. There are no jobs and the infrastructure cannot cope. If you build on this land where will you build next time? You cannot keep expanding Huddersfield land is no longer being created. Get real!!!
