Name: Cllr Graham Simpson on Nov 9, 2012Comments: A highly used and easily accessible area of green space that forms part of the Castle Hill footprint. It should be regarded as part of a tourist attraction promoting the beautiful landscape in and around Kirklees. It forms part of the landscape that promotes tourism in the area in much the same way that 'Last of the Summer Wine' and 'Where the Heart Is' did.Flag

Name: Edward Vickerman on Nov 12, 2012Comments: Castle Hill, standing above a green field setting, is the iconic landmark of the Huddersfield area. To allow this picture frame to be lost is unthinkable for anyone who values the local landscape and would not be forgiven to anyone who encouraged it. Does democracy mean anything?Flag

Name: Claire McCartney on Nov 15, 2012Comments: Why do we need more houses? the local school is over populated, the roads are busy enough, why can't we have rural land for farming instead of having to get everything from aboard. I want my son to grow up and see the fields I did growing up and it would be nice to see them with animals in again. If people look there are plenty of houses and if it's social housing we need then maybe the government need to buy back council houses that tenants bought and are now unable to sell! I keep hearing we have a declining bird and insect population which could have seious implications for our food crops in the future yet we still insisting on destroying their habitats. If you look we have lots of birds in those fields. LET PEOPLE ENJOY THEM!!Flag

Name: Mark Donaldson on Nov 15, 2012Comments: Castle Hill is a place that when people come to Huddersfield they ask about it. We have taken many people to take a view of the whole town and further areas which can be seen by the eye. Please don't take another bit of green grass away from the person admiring the view.Flag

Human well being is derived in part from nature and farmland is one of the few natural (nature) areas we have left.Flag
