Comments: do not let planners ruin the most iconic beauty spot probably in the whole of west yorkshire, surely make efforts to fill the numerous empty houses i.e.council and private before building houses no one wants or can raise a mortgage for.

Comments: In addition to arguments on outstanding natural beauty and high landscape value, these fields are part of the land leased to the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust for the Stirley Farm Project and they are essential for the commercial success of the Project. This has so much local backing that the Council would do well to up grade the land to Green Belt status

Comments: In addition to the reasons stated, the school in the area are full and building of new schools or extensions would be extremely costly. Newsome is one of the worst wards in terms of health and we need open spaces to encourage walking and healthy lifestyles. It would be unwise to build in any of the fields around New Laithe Hill, High Lane and Jackroyd Lane as it would in effect join up Lowerhouses and Ashenhurst estates, potentially developing another Sheepridge with all it's problems.
