Save Newsome Fields

We believe that land currently registered as Provisional Open Land, off New Laithe Hill, nr Newsome, is a very valuable asset for many within the Huddersfield area. This land is a well known tourist landscape, being part of the heavily photographed footprint of Castle Hill. The land is currently leased as farming land, and we believe that good quality farming land is in short supply and should be protected. We urge Kirklees Council to re-designate this land as Green Belt, and to ensure it is kept undeveloped for the benefit of future generations.

  • Geof Hughes Plenty of brownfield sites to build on if they must! Open fields are an asset that should be saved for our children and grandchildren.

  • Alison Moorhouse I fully agree with the cause. My sister farms in South Wales, and the more green land the better!

  • Zara crowther from CPRE I employe you to sign the CPRE charter to protect our countryside: http://www.cpre.org.uk/how-you-can-help/take-action/housing-and-planning/item/3380-sign-cpres-charter-to-save-our-countryside
