Following the news that Newcastle City Council is being forced to dramatically cut their spending budgets, there have been announcements of how these cuts are to be made.

Newcastle\'s City Pool could be one of the victims of the cuts. The Grade II listed building is home to the City of Newcastle swimming club, school swimming lessons and the city\'s oldest Turkish Bath but could be closed as early as March 2013.

Without this pool, the swimming club will face the possibility of having to disband and part of the city\'s Olympic legacy will be gone.
