My landlords are demanding I slash back my garden-- cut down all the trees, and eliminate hundreds of plants. If you like my garden as it is, please sign this petition. More info: My main planting bed, across the front of the duplex I live in, is only 5 feet deep. They want me to remove all plants from a three-foot wide strip of it. That would mean eliminating more than half the plants. And they want me to cut down all plants that are taller than four feet BELOW the roof line. That would mean killing all the palms I have raised from seed. I have tended this garden for more than thirty years, with the full knowledge and tacit approval of the landlords. It is outrageous of them to now say I must decimate it or be evicted.

This garden is the reason I have been paying rent in neighboring K&S apartment for the past 2 years. It's one of the most fantastic curations of plants I have ever seen, and deserves to be protected. I've gardened my whole life and have been surrounded with amazing gardens growing up thanks to my parents' green thumbs, and not only is the work he has done astoundingly beautiful, it is also incredibly well maintained and cared for.
I would be absolutely devastated to see these plants go. They have given me priceless and incessant inspiration for the past two years of my life, and K&S's removal of them would replace it with depression and force me to leave with a horrid impression and deep dissatisfaction for their irresponsible, impersonable, and unreasonably dictatorial requirements against such a wonderful tenant.
This isn't morally right. Everyone deserves to grow food if they put in the time and energy to do so.
