The Episcopal Church denomination plans to evict the small congregation of The Church of the Messiah from its building and confiscate the building and everything the church owns.
This is happening because the 140 member congregation felt forced to leave the the Episcopal Church after the denomination mandated major theological changes that Messiah could not in good conscience accept.
This small congregation has paid for all expenses related to the purchase and maintenance of the land, church building and furnishings for over 25 years.
Despite this, a recent legal ruling gives the Episcopal denomination the right to evict this congregation and confiscate everything they own.
This could happen any time in 2012.
Please sign this appeal to the Presiding Bishop of the Episcopal Church in America, Katharine Jefferts Schori,
to not exercise her legal rights to evict this congregation .
Instead, we appeal to her to allow Messiah's congregation to keep their church building, land and goods so they can continue to serve the community,region and world with all the church resources they have worked hard to acquire over several decades.
