Long Beach Police Department has eliminated the PSS's from the department due to budget cuts. Marlene is the liason between the Police Department and the North Long Beach Neighborhoods. Loosing Marlene will cut all trust with the Long Beach Police Department and the Neighborhoods. Marlene is the contact in the Police Department that everyone goes to for information on a certain problem. She is at all of the events that the Police Department has hosted. She is at all of the meetings that take place in the North Long Beach Associations. She is just an all around great person. She also have been known to keep the Commander on his toes, that statement has been said from Scott Robinson, retired (ex Commander of the North Station), Billy Quach, retired (ex Commander of the North Station), Dave Hendricks, Head of Internal Affairs for Long Beach Police Department.
