Comments: We NEED to keep our LOCAL shops. Denbighshire LPA should NOT bow down to Sainsburys and their bullying tactics. We do NOT want an out of town supermarket in Llangollen, there's no room for them in our beautiful Vale. STAY OUT SAINSBURYS and KEEP OUT!

Comments: So many people still believe supermarkets come in to provide a social service...it's just about money, fair enough, but don't use PR to fool people otherwise.

Comments: Supermarkets are destroying choice in Britain. Our town centres are becoming dull, cloned copies. Individualism is being bulldozed. Fight back. Keep as many local shops as you possibly can. Thank you.

Comments: supermarkets are the biggest leaches in the country - they monopolise and manipulate the price of food between themselves at the expense of all other traders - just pure greed!

Comments: Let's keep Llangollen special by not turning it into another town, that has the same branded shops as everywhere else and destroys the character and individualism that is developed by local peoples unique input. Building shops like sainsbuys and further allowing it to consume our businesses will stop llangollen being a destination point for visitors, which is the essence of what makes our town tick.

Comments: You only have to look at the impact of the large supermarkets on neighbouring towns to realise the impact that it has on local businesses. The argument that it will create jobs needs to be countered by the number of jobs that will be lost in the small shops and businesses that make Llangollen such a thriving community.

Comments: I can not believe the short sighted ness of the council wanting this to go ahead. At present Llangollen have thousands of visitors. Do they honestly think that the smaller shops will be able to stay open if a Sainsburys is built up the road !! As a result we will have many more empty shops, very attractive for the visitors. The new Tescos at Cefn is quite enough for the area.

Comments: We are saturated with supermarket sites. They are killing small, local traders. They have far too much power with suppliers and cause great damage to spply chains with their frequent switching of supply.
