We, the residents of the Lambhill, are a community committed to forever preserving a safe and open area including recreational facilities for children in the Lambhill area. The existing children's park, open space, mature trees, and football pitch have created a unique environment unlike any other area immediately available to Lambhill's residents. This area is truly a treasure and should remain open space for children, the elderly and families alike - as it was originally intended. Development of the property would significantly alter the character of the entire neighborhood and is against the interests of our community which feels the park is very important to our culture, the area and in the promotion of healthy living and the great outdoors. We aim to petition the city to reject the Loretto Housing Association planning application. Their proposal is to build "A range of housing to meet everyone's needs" (including but not limited to: housing for large families, a children's home & small amenity flats for people with housing support needs.) This development intends to redevelop the green space extending from the lane at the local shops to Hillend Road. By signing this petition I assert that I am a a resident in the community with a passion for Lambhill's green spaces and recreational facilities and wish for them to remain as an asset to the community.
