The Mayor of London plans to close Hackney's Kingsland Fire Station - please sign this petition to tell him that we think his plan is dangerous and wrong.
Kingsland Fire Station on Kingsland Road serves both people across Hackney and from neighbouring boroughs. If it was to close the nearest fire stations to the area would be Old Street, Stoke Newington or Homerton. All three are a significant distance from the areas Kingsland Fire Station currently serves.
The Mayor of London's plan - which is currently out for public consultation - will increase response times thereby putting local residents at risk and increasing the risk of fire causing serious harm or loss of life in the borough.
We call on the Mayor of London to immediately reconsider his plans to close our fire station.
