KINGS COLLEGE RUNNING TRCAK A bit of knowledge, King college running track was once the hub of top athletics runners and trainers. It is in an ideal location situated by the Green off of Kings College Road. It’s safe, easy to use and convenient. So why have the track? Well there are many plus points. In fact let’s start with the history of the track. It was originally built in 1951 and was used by Olympic David Hemery when he trained for the 1968 Olympics! It has been in the past used my members of the public and schools. Would it not be wonderful to let our local child have the ability to train and run on a track rather than the dangerous roads? This will also help in families have fun with their children creating an outdoor free recreational zone. The Adult runner or joggers will have a safe and not so damaging on the knees work out ! A lot of residents use it now already even though it is in disuse. Imagine how many people will use it when it’s completed and refurbished. SO CAN YOU HELP US GET THE TRACK BACK UP AND BEING USED ONCE AGAIN? First we need to build up a case for the track. Whilst I know it’s in use I have no names or numbers of residents groups etc. that use it now or who will use it in the future and that where we need your help! Do you use the track? Would you use the track in the future? If so would you be willing to sign our save the track? Brilliant if you said yes to the above, WE CAN WORK TOGETHER , our first meeting is on THURSDAY THE 14TH NOVEMBER AT 7.30 PM – 8.30 PM AT KINGS COLLEGE PAVILLIONS .
