Name: Alan And Lesley Weller on Dec 10, 2009Comments: With the massive population expansion within Redbridge facilities such as the A&E department at King Georges are essential for those of us less able to canter down to Queens. We experienced the need recently when my husband had a stroke first at A&E and then later for visiting. Over some 40 years A&E has been reassuringly available when needed and it would be a devasting blow should this facility be withdrawn as this part of the borough is under-resourced.Flag

Name: Robert Kelsey on Dec 12, 2009Comments: If I cut my leg off, I don't want to have to go all the way to queens, but, if on the rare occasion I do injure myself and its not that bad, like recently I cut the top of my thumb off, I went to the NHS Walk-in centre at Barking. If everyone went to the appropriate place for their alement, then the waiting times wouldn't be so bad, and nor would the cost of running A&Es be. That A&E needs to be there.Flag

Name: Roger Gibbard on Dec 13, 2009Comments: The proposed closure of King George Hospital, Goodmayes, which was built in 1993, shows a callous disregard for the health and wellbeing of the local community. The old Barking Hospital closed some years ago so the nearest facility would be Queen’s in Romford, a hospital that doesn’t currently enjoy an enviable reputation.Flag

Name: Shaun Joyce on Dec 14, 2009Comments: With the increasing local population and high demand already on current services it is unrealistic and naive to reduce hospital services and in particular Accident and Emergency and believe it won't leave local residents short of the required medical care. The journey times to other A/E depts quoted are improbable and therefore delays in emergency treatment will lead to worse outcomes for patients. The Hospital is only 15yrs old and situated in its own extensive grounds so we should be improving and extending the services it provides rather than selling the land for development. How does selling off the silver benefit the local population? Obviously it doesn't!!!!Flag

Name: Dr I F Crabbe on Dec 14, 2009Comments: KGH A & E Dept serves a large population area following the closures of Barking & Chadwell Heath Hospitals. The community is better served by having more local facilities not less as has been learned in the last 30 years. Without the provision of helicopters or quick transport facilities such a closure will result in direct cause of increased loss of life.Flag

Name: Michael Ainsley on Dec 14, 2009Comments: closing accident and emergency will leave the whole of redbridge without emergency cover, expecting whipps cross or Queens to cover will leave people facing longer journeys to recieve emergency treatment and will inevitably lead to deaths, if the PCTs were to pay their bills, some pressure would be talken off the BHR trust, unfortunately PFI has resulted in private enterprise benefiting while the public are facing the consequencesFlag
