We the undersigned call on the Averill Park School Board to restore indoor track to the 2013-2014 Budget. Since the track team has consistently led the school in scholar athletes and setting examples both on the field and in the classroom, we feel that cutting the program is the wrong message to send to our student body as well as the community. And while track may have the largest overall budget, it has the lowest cost per athlete of any sport at Averill Park. But despites this we have continually been asked to fundraise, raising more money than all other sports combined, minus the concession stand. Therefore we vote “NO” on any budget that does not include indoor track.
